This morning at 9:40 a.m. I observed a Yellow-throated Warbler in a backyard on Mountain Ave. between Fishback and Roosevelt. Luke Caldwell, the property owner, first found this bird over a week ago and submitted a video and account to CoBirds. He said it did not get onto the email list for some reason and he never got any feedback about it. I came over this morning to document it since it showed up again. I have 3 photos at the top of my photo site flickr.com/jeff83180

Luke is happy to have birders visit. Please send him an email if you are interested. goe...@gmail.com

Luke is happy to have folks drop-in for a visit without getting in touch with him. People can walk into the backyard at 1520 W. Mountain. No need to knock on door or view from alley. The feeder the bird has been visiting is near the back of the yard on the east side. It is best to enter the yard by walking through the front yard and along the east side of the house. The bird has been seen spending most of its time visiting the feeder from the pine trees along the east fence line near the alley behind the yard.

Also, an apology... I thought Luke had tried to post to CoBirds, but it was another site I guess.

Happy Birding!

The third time's the charm, after a failed attempt on Saturday and a chilly hour and a half this morning, I saw the Yellow-throated Warbler this afternoon (Dec 14) at 1:25pm. It held true to it's observed habits so far, it arrived from the pines east of the fence line, dropped down to the suet feeder for a few minutes and then left the same way it came in. I was alerted to it's arrival by  a couple of high pitched chip notes before I actually saw it.

I would also like to thank Luke and his family for being so kind, gracious and accommodating for allowing all of us twitchers into their yard, Thank You.

I observed this warbler from 8:28-8:32am today. My fifth attempt, and so happy to have seen such a beautiful bird! It was present for about a half hour before I saw it, observed by the homeowners and by Andy Bankert.

When the warbler left the feeder, it flew into the pine tree on the other side of the east fence. I couldn't tell if it stayed there or moved elsewhere, and I had to leave.

I want to add my thanks to Luke and his entire family for being not just tolerant but welcoming and supportive of all the birders invading their backyard. The birding community owes them a big thank you!
