Accessing the lake bed at Barr Lake

Hey all

I spoke to the park manager at Barr Lake State Park today and she said that walking out in the lake bed is permitted with one caveat: While we can access the lake bed in the refuge off the Neidrach Trail, if you walk around the south side of the lake, you cannot go past the Fox Run Meadow area. She said there is a sign indicating no access passed that point.

This is great news for birders and photographers. And also confirms that managers, rangers, and volunteers at this park are not at all on the same page when it comes to what areas the public can and can't access. But if the head honcho has given us the green light, that's good enough for me!
