Hello, all.

Greenlee Preserve & environs, Boulder County, was birdy this rainy Thursday, May 3. Grounded migrants included Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Orange-crowned, MacGillivray's, Yellow, Myrtle, and Audubon's warblers, and Chipping, White-crowned, Vesper, and Lincoln's Sparrows. One migrant wasn't grounded, a Peregrine Falcon powering almost due north through the rain.

You can get in on the Greenlee action by enlisting in a free bird walk this coming Sunday, May 6, at 1pm. Close to 100 species have been seen at the preserve & surrounding open space in the past week, including Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser, White-faced and Glossy ibises, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Snowy and Great egrets, Osprey, American Avocet, Pill Will Willet, Franklin's Gull, American Pipit, Northern Mockingbird, and Virginia's Warbler.
