Mature adult -- Harlan's Hawk. Dark, chocolate brown, faint white striping on upper breast. Undertail pale gray, slightly barred. Upper tail, white speckling . Bill tip dark. In flight, gray underrated clearly visible, upper tail mostly dark. Body completely black/chocolate brown. Primaries lighter showing trailing darker edge. Caught a mouse and ate it in the single tree. Then flew off to the east.

Location in the median strip between Quincy and C470. At the Quincy exit, going south on C470, Quincy is on the west side of the highway. The Harlan's Hawk was in the lone tree in the strip between Quincy and the highway. Flew off toward the east after people arrived.
