The Northwinds brought in more sparrows or the birds from the south side of the fence came over to the north side. I think it was a little of both. First Red-winged Blackbird caught in the net for me in Colorado and banded. The Juncos made the bulk of the catch.

Orange-crowned Warbler- 7
Audubon's (Yellow-rumped) Warbler- 2
Myrtle (Yellow-rumped Warbler)- 5
Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 6
American Goldfinch- 1
Lincoln's Sparrow- 3
Chipping Sparrow- 8
Oregon Junco- 21
Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow- 8
Vesper Sparrow- 2
Spotted Towhee- 3
Hermit Thrush- 8
Red-winged Blackbird- 1
Red-shafted (Northern) Flicker- 2

6 Recaptures- all of which gained a little weight since last capture
Wilson's Warbler- 1
Oregon Junco- 3
Hermit Thrush- 2

Tomorrow is the last day of the bird banding season at Chico Basin Ranch. The nets will be open at sunrise until @ 11:45 AM. Birding on the ranch is available through the weekend. 

Remember to go to the Aiken Audubon Society website to register for birding access to the Ranch.
