serendipity--a Long-Eared Owl completely out of his element

This from a strictly urban Wheatridge neighborhood, posted on the 

Nextdoor social website.  There is an unmistakeable photo.  I guess

that this owl was suddenly so tired from migration that he just came

down to spend the night (Sunday night).

"Long eared owl. Heard a ruckus in the backyard and found magpies dive bombing this guy. Apple photos says it’s a long eared owl. He or she is an acrobatic flyer. Easily lost the magpies in the air with twists and turns. Pretty cool bird."
