A flock of Robins added their voices to the Red-winged Blackbirds and the Spotted Towhees who have dominated the early-morning chorus as we've opened nets the first few days of banding this spring. We caught three in the first run, which is probably a record. Overall for the morning we had a nice mix of birds, a total of 15 birds of 7 species:

Black-capped Chickadee 4 new, 1 banded 4/25/19

Bushtit 1

White-breasted Nuthatch 1

American Robin 3

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 2

Song Sparrow 2

Lincoln's Sparrow 1

We will be open six days per week (closed Tuesdays) through May 30. While some COVID related restrictions remain in place, there are opportunities most mornings for the public to visit, but reservations are required.
