Odd dipper behavior

Location: east side of the Park Range (Jackson County) at about 9,000'.

At a small cascade (Big Creek Falls),  Emily spotted a bird on an evergreen branch about 8 or 10' above the creek - the bird mostly hidden by needles and shadow.  We assumed it was one of numerous robins we'd seen.  As we pulled out binocs, we could see the bird doing familiar bobbing.  Turned out to be a dipper.   It then flew to a rock near the cascade - it was a juvenile (I've noted juvenile dippers seemingly unsure about swift water before).  After a few moments, the dipper flew downstream where we lost it in copious deadfall across the creek.

We're curious - has anyone else ever seen a dipper perched in a tree or other vegetation?
