The DUNLIN and male CINNAMON TEAL continue at this location. Late this afternoon, the Dunlin was working the rocky edge of the water (i.e., not the sandbar) about 200 yards east of the McKay bridge.
Some of the big ponds on either side of the South Platte River hosted quite a few ducks and gulls today. The biggest surprise was an adult ICELAND GULL, seen on one of the ponds east of the river, between McKay and 88th. It flew towards the southwest just before sunset, so maybe it was heading to one of the lakes in the southern Denver metro area for the night?
