id help on fallen migrant

this poor bird was on my driveway this morning

the photo captures the key features except the undertail is white with rufous and black spots

what struck me is that the bill was quite long, thin and pointy but somehow did not look like what I imagine most shorebird bills to be like, but I never get this close
