Calmer winds today for most of the morning. Not favorable winds for migrants with a WSW wind direction. Six species of birds captured today including first of the season Virginia's Warbler.
Other Species observed around the banding station were a Least and a Gray Flycatcher along with a Rose-breasted Grosbeak male.
5 New Banded Birds
Virginia's Warbler
Audubon's Yellow-rumped Warbler
Yellow-breasted Chat
Hermit Thrush
Swainson's Thrush

1 Brown Thrasher returning from last year. It was banded as an adult making it at least 3 years old.

The banding station will be operating tomorrow through Saturday this week from sunrise to @ 11 AM. Please stop by and share what you are seeing on the ranch.

***Remember Chico Basin is open to a limited number of people each day during this month. Please go to the Aiken Audubon Website to register for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.
