Did a lap of Windsor Lake this morning with Barb Jones who lives in Windsor and considers it her patch. The continuing Red-necked Grebe found yesterday was a lifer for her, and something she couldn't enjoy properly without access to a scope. Thus, my return
today.
Other highlights included even more than the 2500 Cackling Geese reported yesterday. Today I didn't really do any kind of careful count but would guess the number close to double yesterday's.
Greater Scaup (1 female)
Snow Goose (38)
Hybrid Goose (2, probably Snow X Cackling)
Bonaparte's Gull (6, maybe a few more)
Double-crested Cormorant (10, all young birds)
White Pelican (2, maybe 3, one with fish hook in its chin)
Red-breasted Merganser (6)
