To anyone interested in this trip:  In my DFO description of this trip, I said it would be "easy".  That is because it will only be on parts of the Fowler and north Spring Brook trails.  We will be walking south from the end of Boulder County Rd. 67 or no more than two miles -- about a mile up to an irrigation ditch where these two trails meet the Goshawk Ridge Trail.  (If we did the whole Spring Brook loop and part of the Fowler Trail we would walk almost 4 miles!)

This is a very birdy area as it includes many habitats (including open ponderosa pine woodland, a burned area of pine forest, and lots of brushy slopes-- plums and chokecherries galore this year).  As of this week, two Lewis Woodpeckers were still in the burn area!
