This morning Nick Komar and I birded parts of Larimer and Weld
counties with the following highlights:
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron at the Prospect Ponds Natural Area.
Timnath Reservoir had a Peregrine Falcon and a couple of Buffleheads
along with the usual waterfowl.
Windsor Reservoir had a Forster's Tern and not much else exciting.
Black Hollow Reservoir had a sparrow flock that included White-crowns,
Clay-coloreds, and a White-throated Sparrow.
On the way to Cobb Lake we found a dead Common Poorwill on the
Larimer/Weld line.
The pond on Giddings Road just north of Douglas Road (near Wellington)
had 3 species of teal, a Baird's Sandpiper, some Lesser Yellowlegs, 2
Stilt Sandpipers and a Wilson's Phalarope.
Good Birding!
