I stopped by Squirrel Creek Reservoir east of Fountain this afternoon to see if the Red-necked Phalaropes were still around - they are, and there are many - I counted about 22 - several come close to the road for decent binocular viewing. I didn't stay long, but I also saw Eared Grebe, Western Grebes, Northern Shovelers, Ruddy Ducks, Canada Geese, Mallards, Cliff Swallows, Bank Swallows, Great-tailed Grackle, Red-winged Blackbirds, Eastern Kingbird and a few other species I'm probably forgetting.

All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
