Prewitt Reservoir 9/10 Highlights and Migrants
American Golden Plover- Continuing bird, west of where we parked. After finding it and it flying off before anyone else could get a look 3 consecutive times, I was finally able to ask it to keep it still for everyone to have awesome views.
Semipalmated Plovers(12), Marbled Godwit(4) and a Long Billed Curlew the LBCU and MAGO were pretty far out along the mudflats.
Buff Breasted Sandpiper- Continuing, pointed out to us by Adam Vesely about 30 feet from where I was walking, undisturbed and came pretty close if we stood still.
Red Necked Phalaropes(2), Stilt Sandpiper(35), Pectoral Sandpiper(9) probably an undercount of all.
Gulls included a first year Sabines Gull feeding on the washed up carp and 3 adult Lesser Black Backed Gulls.
Heading to the inlet canal and greater area (overall worded area)
Blue Headed Vireo- I think it was an adult...... but I don't have any expierence with Juvenile BHVI.
Ovenbird- hoping around a cottenwood 30+ feet off of the ground!!
Black and White Warbler(2)- one was definetly a juvenile, I wasn't sure about the other.
Bay Breasted Warbler- Continuing, HY female
Chestnut Sided Warbler- Juvenile
Townsends Warbler- Age and Sex unknown (seen in flight)
Acess: if you are wondering, we just got annual fishing licenses with a habitat stamp. There wasn't anyone there checking, but just in case.
