Over the weekend we birded the RMNP and Estes area, here are the highlights

9/2

Hollowell Park:
American Three Toad Woodpecker
Cassin's Vireo-in the very first large aspen grove you come to along the trail.
Townsends Warbler(3) all Juvies

Bear Lake(from Hollowell)
American Three Toad Woodpecker
Cassin's Vireos(2)- both were in a large mixed flock in a denser lodgepoll section of the hike.
Townsends Warbler(2) both adult males
Veery- one probable migrant

Mathews Reeser Bird Sanctuary
Northern Pintail
Ruddy Duck(2)
Macgilivaray's Warbler(2)

9/3
Lake Estes
Sanderling
Semipalmated Sandpiper(2)
Sage Thrasher

Upper Beaver Meadows
Cassin's Vireo- our best look at the species on the trip, and we were finally able to get comparison looks between CAVI and PLVI.
Rose Breasted Grosbeak- a presumed first year bird staying quite low in the restoration area WEST of the parking lot.
Warbler sp. an almost definite hatch year Magnolia Warbler, which I called originally, but after looking at pictures of Juvie Canada, and Nashville Warblers, I couldn't be 110% sure.

Endovally picnic area and trails
American Three Toed Woodpecker
Hammonds Flycatcher
Townsends Warbler- not quite the best of looks but appeared to be an adult female.

Good Birding
