Doug Kibbe just called me to report that he and Mackenzie Goldthwaite found that birds are hopping this afternoon (Sat, Sept 14) at Flagler Reservoir SWA, just east of the town of Flagler, is in Kit Carson County.
They estimated an astounding ONE HUNDRED empids, mostly below the dam (including a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER), with the other usual suspects, Great Crested, etc.
In trees along the lakeshore were four Blue-headed Vireos, a Mourning Warbler, many other birds.

This is not a comprehensive list, but gives one the idea that there are a lot of birds have congregated there. Will they still be there Sunday morning?
En route to Flagler, they saw a Blue-headed Vireo at Last Chance.
