The Bird Conservancy of the Rockies will be compiling data for the seventeenth consecutive Barrow’s Goldeneye (BAGO) count again this year. In 2015, we will be accepting data collected 21 November through 6 December. The reason for this count is to monitor the wintering population of this species in Colorado since it is possible that all BAGO in the state during this time period represents the Colorado breeding population. However, no one knows for certain if some BAGO migrate from Wyoming or further north.
We appreciate any reports of BAGO in Colorado during the count period. We encourage everyone to enter their count totals into the eBird database. I will check eBird for BAGO reported during this time period for those of you that don't post on CoBirds or WSBN. Or, you can send count totals to me at this e-mail address or jason DOT beason AT birdconservancy DOT org.

2007 – 225 at 17 sites
2008 – 183 at 19 sites
2009 – 163 at 16 sites
2010 – 163 at 16 sites
2011 – 217 at 24 sites
2012 – 214 at 19 sites
2013 – 247 at 19 sites
2014 – 152 at 19 sites
