Hey, all.
Please join us this coming Sun., Mar. 7, for the monthly installment of "Lafayette Birds!" We begin at 1pm at the Greenlee Wildlife Preserve, Boulder County, trailhead.
Some birds around Greenlee & environs these first few days of Mar. 2021 have included: a dozen species of waterfowl; a continuing first-winter northern shrike; mountain chickadees still hanging on; several bushtit pairs; widespread red-breasted nuthatches; a peripatetic Townsend solitaire; and the continuing white-throated sparrow. Various FOS's are possible, especially given the forecast for warm weather; perhaps we'll see a cinnamon teal or Say phoebes or American white pelicans.
We will bird in small, socially distanced groups (≤ 10 persons, incl. group leaders). Sign-in, for COVID-19 contact tracing, is mandatory; arrive a bit early for that, please. Masks also mandatory.
"Lafayette Birds!" is sponsored by the City of Lafayette, and is free and open to the public. All are welcome, children and curiosity-seekers especially so. No experience necessary. Bring a camera and binoculars if you have them.
Hope to see some of you on Sunday!
