There was a very birdy time early this morning along the western margin of the St. Mary Church property in Littleton this morning, and at the adjacent reach of Lee Gulch. Highlights were Blackpoll Warbler, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Black-headed Grosbeak, Dusky Flycatcher, Green-tailed Towhee, Wilson's Warbler, Bullock's Oriole, and a passel of Western Tanagers that were all in one cottonwood cluster... a passel = 21 tanagers, all males in this case. Even the gray skies could not dim their glory.

Later in the morning activity had slowed greatly and it was hard to find anything fun but the tanagers.
