10:30 AM this morning, DFO trip had a singing 1st year male? summer tanager on old South Road, Boulder County, just SW of Lyons. Beautiful mottled bird, all yellow below, with a red/orange breast and a splash of red on his belly.
it was in the cottonwoods north of the road, at the west end of the big corral on the south side. Not as far west as the house W of the corral. There was a Virginia's Warbler working in the brush on the south side of the corral at the same spot.
