COBirders,
The Pikes Peak Birding and Nature Festival kicked off yesterday afternoon, and our trip at Fountain Creek Regional Park saw a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak at about 5:30 pm. The bird was fairly cooperative for a couple minutes, perched at the north end of Warbler Alley, which is south of the bridge on the south end of the nature center pond. Otherwise, good activity in spite of strong winds, including impressive numbers of at least four swallow species.
Good luck to participants and all birders who are out and about this weekend!
