This field trip is brought to you by Boulder County Audubon.

Oh, Those Odonata!  Dragonflies and Damselflies at Mud Lake

Friday, July 29, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., lunch afterwards if desired

Free:  Limited to 10, reservations:  piombi...@gmail.com

Leader:  Ann Cooper

Ann, arguably the most knowledgeable dragonfly aficionado in the Boulder area, will show us up close and personal the beauty and wonder of this flashy class of insects.  The wetlands surrounding Mud Lake contain many species of Spreadwings, Damselflies, Meadowhawks, Skimmers, and Darners.  We might even get lucky and spy one of the elusive Emeralds.

Meet at 9 a.m. at Eben Fine Park at the west end of Arapaho Avenue. We must carpool to Mud Lake and afterwards folks can decide if they would like to enjoy the buffet lunch at Himalayas in Nederland.

Bring binoculars, a hand lens if you have one, water, hats, and sunscreen. Please wear shoes that can get muddy.  Pam Piombino will be along to i.d. butterflies.
