We know many of you were very disappointed when you couldn't join last month's program by Nathan Pieplow.  We apologize again for not realizing then that the ZOOM subscription that we were using was capped at 100 participants.  We have learned that lesson on the hard way and have now arranged to allow 500! people to join the talk.

Dear Pam, Join us online for our May 26th meeting and presentation by Aaron Yappert on Denizens of the Alpine: Tracing the Movement of the Brown-capped Rosy-Finch

When: Tuesday May 26, 2020   Presentation: 7:15 PM. We recommend joining a few minutes early to ensure you can get the audio and video connection set up. We've upgraded our platform and have room for 500 people so don't be worried about being locked out as may have happened in the April meeting. Join young field biologist and avid birder Aaron Yappert to learn about the movements of Brown-capped Rosy-Finches on Tuesday, May 26th 2020. Aaron will share how these high-alpine breeders move about the state in the winter months, whether birds in isolated breeding areas show unique genetic characteristics, and how these new discoveries will help inform the conservation of this colorful Colorado bird. Join us to hear more about recent efforts by Colorado Parks & Wildlife, researchers at the University of California – Santa Cruz, and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies to better understand the natural history of these poorly studied denizens of the high-alpine. Aaron Yappert is a young field biologist and avid birder and has spent the last several years exploring the avifauna of North America. He has contributed to a variety of research projects including studies of breeding shorebirds in Alaska, Grasshopper Sparrows in Florida, neotropical migrants in Michigan, and, most recently, Brown-capped Rosy-Finches in southwest Colorado.
