Blackbirds massing--is fall on its way?

Early Thursday morning at Walden, a dead tree filled with a mixed flock of grackles and starlings. A hopeful sign that cooler temps may come soon?

Especially considering I'm starting to see flocks of geese again, flocks of spizellas heading south, and more shorebirds and passerines coming through, I think fall is on the way!

The birds are happy, and so am I
