All,

https://ebird.org/checklist?subID=S109459534  by the Ketchams does not show the Garganey from 7-9am this morning.  However, it does show an interesting shorebird photo under 'shorebird sp'.  It looks possibly like a female Ruff to me?

Cheers,  Peter Gent.

Peter,

Out here at Boyd at the moment (1:30pm) missing the Gargarney, but there is a nice assortment of shorebirds.  I didn't notice the one pictured, but you're right, that's an interesting one!! Heading back out to the beaches now and will keep the group posted.  Thanks for the heads up.

 Here's,
Doug

Quick re-check of the north beaches at Boyd and while no 'interesting" shorebird, the species mix is continuing to shift (13 total this afternoon and missed several from the Katcham's list), so maybe someone can get lucky later today. If you need a draw, most of our spectacular guys are here (ie; avocets, stilts, Marbled Godwits, and L-b Curlew), and fairly approachable so good photo ops. Good luck.

Good Birding,
Doug

All,

The consensus for the 'shorebird sp' at Boyd Lake is a Lesser Yellowlegs.

Hi Peter,

Hits me as a Lesser Yellowlegs, possibly with a slightly deformed bill.
