Friday Oct 14th was the last day of our station in Grand Junction. Overall it was a good season. Our two weeks in ridgway brought us 110 birds representing 30 species and our four weeks in grand junction brought us 309 birds of 27 species. 421 birds combined of 44 species.

I really enjoyed my time at both of these stations. We hosted about 1,200 elementary schoolers over the course of the six week season and several students returned with their families multiple times. There are many passionate conservationists involved with BCR's stations on the west slope including active and retired folks in the parks service, master botanists, water policy scientists, experts in mine shaft/ well mitigation and removal, and all of fabulous audubon staff and volunteers. It was wonderful to learn about all the local conservation groups working to keep rivers, gorges, and canyons clean and healthy. Thank you to everyone who helped make the past four weeks so successful.
