I found a number of first of the year (FOY) birds for Canon City along the Canon City Riverwalk today including a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak and possibly a female with him, but both were at the tip top of a 60+ ft tall cottonwood so could not get good view of her (or pics).  FOY Lazuli Buntings were singing all along the Riverwalk up to a half mile east of the Sell's Lake trailhead.  I heard at least 4-5 singing and did see and photograph one of them.  FOY Western Tanagers, at least 5 males, were also along both trails going east from the Sell's Lake trailhead.  The Black-chinned Hummingbird was still working on her nest above the parking lot.

I found at least a dozen Cedar Waxwings feeding on fruit in hackberry trees and tender shoots on other trees in Veteran's Park which is located along H50 in town.  And I spotted a FOY male Bullock's Oriole on the west side of town high up in a cottonwood tree.

I got pics of Lazuli Bunting, Western Tanager and Cedar Waxwing that I have uploaded to my Birds and Nature blog.
