Acorn Woodpeckers in Pueblo Mtn Park: confirmed breeding success & roadrunner in west Pueblo County

Yesterday I got back to Pueblo Mountain Park to check on the pair of Acorn Woodpeckers that appeared to be nesting in July.  I found them away from the nest tree and there were 4 birds that were high up in the pine trees.  I observed an adult bird feeding a young fledgling (with blackish eyes found on young juveniles).  I also photographed another Acorn Woodpecker with blueish eyes that are found on older juveniles.  I did get a distant photo I cropped for closer view showing the parent bird as it approached the fledgling with it's bill open wide right before the feeding as well as one right after the feeding and a closer one with the juvenile that has the bluish eyes.  I have uploaded these to my Birds and Nature blog.  It is nice to see that this pair were successful in breeding this year. 

On my way home via Siloam Road I was surprised to spot a Greater Roadrunner that was in juniper grassland habitat (for some miles around).
