Hi all,

Since we couldn't have our annual compilation party this year for the Pueblo Reservoir CBC last evening, results are still coming in for the Count yesterday.  Mark Yaeger the compiler and I believe the total is at 121 species at least (last year was 132 species thr highest ever for this count).  The six teams (7 people) on the river, below Pueblo Reservoir dam to the east end of the circle found 86 species of birds.  I think the variety of birds along the river last year on the count, was better, though we had more coverage this year and found a lot of species.  The Reservoir itself was pretty good for water birds, since all the ponds had a lot more ice than open water.  The lack of Juniper berries, made some places pretty bird-less.  I don't know of any new birds for the Count.  We had hoped the long staying Black-throated Blue Warbler might stay, though it was never seen again after 2 December.  A big thanks to all the helpers during this crazy year.  Hopefully next year on December 18, 2021, we'll have a normal Pueblo  Reservoir Christmas Bird Count and the always fun after count party.

Good Birding,

Brandon Percival
