No sightings of 2nd ever Acadian Flycatcher for Colorado today, maybe 30 birders were able to see it yesterday, some drove down from Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, etc.
The ranch was a bit quieter for migrants today. The singing male Hooded Warbler, an Ovenbird, and Veery on the El Paso County side were the best things. Very slow today at Headquarters Wiilows and Rose Pond. Sometimes the last week of May at Chico Basin Ranch can still produce rare birds, though some days can be very slow like today. It has been a good week for me at Chico, with over 20 species of warblers and a good number vireos, among other birds from May 14-23. I may only get back out there a couple more times before June. Luckily banding will be going on into early June this year, so there may be some more interesting birds being banded in the coming days hopefully.
