Very quick update, today's Pueblo Reservoir CBC had at least 124
species, new birds for count day: Carolina Wren, Northern Parula,
Yellow-throated Warbler, and Chestnut-sided Warbler (first Colorado
CBC record!)! Also, seen were Prairie Warbler, Common Redpoll,
Red-necked Grebe, Long-tailed Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, Chipping
Sparrow, House Wren, Steller's Jay, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Great
Black-backed, Lesser Black-backed, Iceland (Thayer's) Gulls, Northern
Mockingbird, Northern Saw-whet Owl, over 100 White-winged Doves,
probably other stuff. A pretty great turnout of observers, thanks all
for coming! Five species of warblers on a Colorado CBC, is pretty
amazing! Thanks to Mark Yaeger for organizing and compiling a
wonderful Christmas Bird Count and Compilation Party!
