I had a little time to go to Osprey Picnic Area in Rock Canyon, below
Pueblo Reservoir dam in Pueblo County, after some clouds came in from
the north this morning (around 8:45am). I noticed a good number of
swallows flying around, and looked way high up in the clouds, and
picked out one Black Swift with them. I didn't see other ones.
Cloudy mornings in late May/early June, below Pueblo Reservoir dam,
seems to be a good place to look for Black Swifts. The last few years
I've seen them here, as they are migrating through to the mountains to
breed. I didn't detect any migrant land birds in the trees and bushes
here unfortunately.
