This morning an immature Black-legged Kittiwake was flying around the north side of the reservoir, flashing its nice markings. There were small rain squalls and the wind was brisk. The kittiwake seemed at home, buoyant, dancing even. Conditions were a bit tough for me, and I retreated quickly off the berm.

Very nice.  I believe that Black-legged Kittiwake is a first for the Denver CBC, a good count week bird at least (hopefully it will be around on Saturday).  Colorado rarely gets a Black-legged Kittiwake on any Colorado Christmas Bird Count!
