Chris Knight and I saw a singing Northern Waterthrush near the Pueblo Nature Center this morning.  I think this is the first time I've seen a Northern Waterthrush in April in Pueblo.  If I hadn't heard it singing first, I'd be hoping for a Louisiana Waterthrush, since April seems to be the right time for those, though now the Northerns are coming through too.  A few other highlights in Pueblo since last weekend: Summer Tanager, Townsend's Warbler, Indigo Bunting, amazing 11 Caspian Terns, 6 Whimbrel, Glossy Ibis, Yellow-throated Warbler, White-eyed Vireo, among other birds (including shorebirds which are never too easy in the county).  Pueblo County birders have been out and about finding fun things around Pueblo. this month.  Hopefully the month of May will be good too around Pueblo.
