I was hoping/expecting today to be busy, given the sort of unsettling weather of the past few days and the slight uptick in numbers yesterday. But, it was not to be, although the 2nd day of cooler weather was appreciated. Where are the flycatchers? We banded 20 and had 2 more returns from prior years, both almost senior citizens:
House Wren 2
Swainson’s Thrush 3
Gray Catbird 5
Yellow Warbler 3 new, 2 returns (1 banded 2007, 1 in 2008)
MacGillivray’s Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Song Sparrow 1
Lincoln’s Sparrow 2
Bullock’s Oriole 1 (FOS)
Open daily, weather permitting, through June 2.
