Question about blue jays

I haven’t had much luck googling this, so wondered if anybody here knows the answer.

I’ve been trying to distinguish the jays that frequent my feeders from one another. I’ve noticed the pattern on their chests is slightly different. Two seem to have whiter feathers making a diagonal slash against the slightly darker (light gray) feathers. (And these two are always together.) One has more of a bright patch against the light gray, and another doesn’t have any bright white at all. What I’m wondering is if this is something that will remain, or if this variation of white on (slightly darker) white is more a matter of age and will change as they mature?
