As our slow pace continues, we saw somewhat fewer warblers and a few more sparrows.  Enjoyed a nice young White-throated Sparrow, which we could compare with a similar aged White-crowned.  Also caught one of the noisy Starlings that hang out high up in a dead tree near the banding station; nice to get an up close look at this very common but quite beautiful, personality-plus species. Here's the breakdown of today's 22 new birds:

House Wren 2
Hermit Thrush 2
European Starling 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 8
Song Sparrow 3
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
White-throated Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1

We are open 6 days a week, weather permitting through October 23.  Closed Mondays.  Click here to register to visit - we are offering one-hour slots (up to 12 visitors at a time); 7:30-8:30 most weekdays, and 8-9, 9-10, and 10-11 on weekends.  Come visit!
