I never thought of a life list for our dog, Lark. I'm not sure how to determine whether or not she actually saw/encountered the bird. Certainly, the Wild Turkeys that she chases qualify.

We also have a list of birds seen in the shower (static, now, since the aspen tree we could see through the skylight died & went away). It stopped at 12 species. We hope the cottonwood we planted 3 years ago will soon grow tall enough for more action.

And a list of birds seen on haystacks -- now up to 51 species, in 54 years.

I suppose you could truly call these two, "Bird Dogs"!

Hugh - have you seen the new and improved habitat codes for the New Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas?  I happened to see them and they've added some special ones.

HAY - Bird seen on a haystack by Hugh Kingery
3000 - Bird heard by Ted Floyd 3000 feet above him.
1-800-CALL-DOUG-KIBBE - any sightings of Scooters in any county at any time.
ADAM - That guy called Adam Vessely that is everywhere seeing everything.  He needs his own habitat code.
