A big thank you to all the participants and donors in Colorado Field Ornithologists’ Colorado Birding Challenge. We’re still processing the eBird Trip reports and the donations. But as of right now, your efforts mean more than $35,000 has been raised! If you pledged to pay by check, you still have time to make it count toward the fundraising goal. Just mail it to:

Colorado Field Ornithologists, ATTN: COBC, PO Box 1568, Loveland, CO 80539

Any donations collected by this Sunday, May 15th will count toward this fundraiser.

We’ll report final numbers soon. Winners will be announced and honored at the CFO annual meeting on May 21, 2022 in Pueblo, CO, during the annual CFO Convention: https://cobirds.org/current-convention/

This year’s Birding Challenge fundraiser will help support the Gunnison Basin-Sagebrush Ecosystem Alliance's (GB-SEA’s) cheatgrass removal and sagebrush habitat restoration. In addition to Gunnison Sage-Grouse recovery, this will also support habitat recovery for other sagebrush dependent species including Brewer’s Sparrow, Sagebrush Sparrow, Sage Thrasher, Green-tailed Towhee and Vesper Sparrow.

Would you like to support this critically important restoration effort? You can donate here: https://charity.pledgeit.org/c/hgqOlXNfUt/contribute/select

Thanks and enjoy that Spring birding!
