David Starbuck and I made the trip to the Caldwell residence in Fort Collins this morning and were delighted to see the previously reported Yellow-throated Warbler on the suet feeder as we approached at 8:05AM. It stayed for a moment then took off and did not return during the 20 minutes or so that we stayed. I got a few poor pictures, and one is good enough for ID purposes. We are feeling very lucky to have seen it! There were 3 other local birders there who saw it too.

There was very little open water in the area, so we did not see any of the reported lake/reservoir rarities. 1 Bald Eagle and several American Kestrels at Douglas Lake. We returned to try to get another look at the Warbler, but did not see it before we ran out of time and had to head back to Denver to get David to work. Other species seen were Blue Jay, Mountain and Black-capped Chickadees, several Downy Woodpeckers, Flickers, House Finches, a Crow and a Black-billed Magpie.

Thanks to the Caldwells for letting us see this bird in their yard.

Good birding!
