Thanks to Peter Gent for not only alerting us about the new meadowlark species, Chihuahuan Meadowlark, but also for letting us know about Johanna Beam, from Colorado, who wrote the convincing paper resulting in the Eastern Meadowlark’s subspecies, "Lilian’s” being elevated to a new species. Takes a lot of perseverance and skill to pull that off. Now all we have do is to figure out what this new meadowlark looks like. This maybe equally challenging.
