Our first really nice, sunny spring morning in a week or so. We enjoyed being out, even though the numbers continued low and we are still watching constantly for the bobcat. Most of the birds that we are catching are summer residents/Chatfield breeders as opposed to migrants passing through. Here are today's new birds:
House Wren 3
Gray Catbird 4
Yellow Warbler 7 new, 1 banded 2021
MacGillivray's Warbler 2 (FOS)
Common Yellowthroat 2
Bullock's Oriole 1 banded 2022 (FOS)
House Finch 1 (don't ask; I don't know; we NEVER catch them at this station!)
American Goldfinch 1
We will be open Tuesday-Sunday, weather permitting, through the end of May. Denver Audubon has scheduled one-hour time slots at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 for visitors on weekends; visit
here to register. (I believe many time slots are already sold out, so register soon if you would like to visit.)
