Seriously, folks. People should get out and look. If there's ever going to be a flamingo in Colorado, now is the time.

Hi All,
These sightings of vagrant flamingos in the eastern U.S. are apparently due to Hurricane Idalia.  Not only in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, but also 5 flamingos sighted north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (the first record for that state).  WOW!!
With global warming, it makes one wonder if flamingos could even establish permanent flocks throughout Florida (and perhaps even states adjacent to Florida).  This time they could be protected (and not shot for feathers on women's hats).

Any predictions on where a Flamingo might show up in Colorado?  I'm betting on the Lamar / LaJunta area...

I was just at the Blanca Wetlands…that’s my crazy pick of a location.
What a backdrop for photos that would be.

Possible spots southeast (I don't dare say likely): Neenoshe Reservoir (Kiowa) and John Martin Reservoir (Bent) have what could be attractive habitat conditions at present, esp. the southeast pool at the former. And Sheridan Lake (Kiowa). Or maybe Lake Henry (Crowley) with a couple of saline-looking side ponds and other features. God forbid the Meredith Feedlot ponds (Crowley), but I could imagine it.
