My party found the warbler mentioned by Brandon at the Lamar Community College woods this afternoon. We are in the middle of a grouse grand slam and I had planned to post a few highlights after the trip, but the warbler needs immediate posting. The bird was found in the area of the yellow metal building near the north end of the woods. The building appears to be some kind of car or boat shop, as it has bays. We called Dave Leatherman, who notified Jane Stulp and Janielle Thompson, and all got the bird. Per Dave, it was eating weevils from the catkins on a cottonwood just east and slightly south of the yellow building. The tree is approximately 75 yards from the building in the middle (not the edge) of the grove.
We also had a number of the usual suspects including cardinal, red-bellies, wood duck, broad-winged hawk, orange-crowned warblers and roughly a gazillion yellow-rumps.
