A relatively typical mid-spring day at Chatfield, with lots of summer residents coming back and some species that are migrating through.  Highlight was a Yellow Warbler female banded in 2016, making her the oldest of the 25 returned YEWAs we've caught so far this season.

Here's a breakdown of the 23 new + 9 returns:

Dusky Flycatcher 1
House Wren 3
Swainson's Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 4 new, 2 banded 2021
Yellow Warbler 1 new, 1 banded 2022, 3 banded 2021, 1 banded 2016
Northern Waterthrush 1 (FOS)
Common Yellowthroat 5
Yellow-breasted Chat 2 new, 1 banded 2019
Spotted Towhee 1 new, 1 banded 2021
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Bullock's Oriole 1
American Goldfinch 2

We will be open Tuesday-Sunday, weather permitting, through the end of May.  Denver Audubon has scheduled one-hour time slots at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 for visitors on weekends; visit here to register.  (I believe many time slots are already sold out, so register soon if you would like to visit.)
