Hi All - Is it possible (my wishful thinking) that this is something other than a Lesser Black-backed Gull? It seemed as large as a Herring Gull but maybe that's my old age :>)  There are Ring-billed Gulls all around it.

There were a "million" gulls on the south-facing slope, easily viewed from Hwy 14.

Hi all

It was not clear from above that the gull was Weld County landfill (in name of link but ... ;-) ... I'll let you know what WhatBird thinks of it.

Hi all

Got some feedback from WhatBirders ... " I mean, that's kind of what my post tried to imply (Yellow-footed Gull) - these are rarer species that probably can't be eliminated from a single poor photo, but it's probably safe to call this one a Less Black Back until proven otherwise "

Looks like my dream of "Yellow-footed Gull" are "crushed" 😞 as anticipated ... that size of bird just threw me off raised some hope 🙂

"Breathe, let it go ... :-)"

Hi all

More intel from WhatBird forum from Tony L. " YELLOW-FOOTED GULL can be easily ruled out by the relatively narrow tertial crescents on this bird and by the LACK of a skirt."
