Franklin's Gull fallout, Boulder Rez, Boulder Co., Apr. 22

Hello, birders.

It's cool to see grounded migrants. It's cooler still to watch migrants actually migrating. And it's especially stirring to witness a fallout as it transpires right before your very eyes and ears. That's what happened for me yesterday evening, Mon., Apr. 22, at Boulder Reservoir, Boulder County, as I got to see at least 500 high-flying Franklin's Gulls drop out of the sky and alight on the north shore mudflats. Back to Boulder Rez. Also present at the north shore were a Mexican Duck x Mallard hybrid, a badly behaved dog owner, and an impressively large bobcat.
