The new hotspot is named:

"Byers Playa"

& it lord south of Byers, CO, just west of Arapahoe CR 181 on Quincy Rd, aka CR 30"

Thanks to geographer Loch Kilpatrick for this information.
I hope that birders' checklists utilize the hotspot, so data accumulates there.

Gene Rutherford found (as far as I know) this little hot spot! I ran into him there the same day I found the Buff-breasted Sandpiper. We parted company and I later returned to find this little gem of a bird. I'm so happy people are getting out there to see it.

A big thanks to Cheri for identifying and photographing the Buff-breasted sandpiper among all the Baird's sandpipers at Byers Playa.  It was a 'rare' lifer for me!

I am also grateful to Gwen, Lee, and Sue for pointing out this lovely beige bird, because it had an uncanny ability to hide in the stubble.
